Italian Academy of Rhinology

The Italian Academy of Rhinology was founded in Milan on May 25, 2012. The “Founding Members” elected Professor Paolo Castelnuovo as the first President. The Founding Congress was held in Varese on June 23, 2012, with 189 participants; by the end of 2012, the IAR had 226 members. In 2015, Professor Matteo Gelardi succeeded as President. For the 2018-2021 term, Dr. Alberto Macchi was elected as the third IAR President. Professor Frank Rikki Canevari is the current President of IAR and will remain in office until 2024. Today, the ITALIAN ACADEMY OF RHINOLOGY has over 500 members.
